BHUBANESWAR: Total 10 candidates including three independents are in the fray for the April 17 Pipili by-election.
State chief electoral officer SK Lohani said all arrangements are being made for the by-election with strict adherence of Covid protocol issued by Election Commission of India.
Total 2.29 lakh voters including 1.10 lakh female voters will exercise their democratic right in the by-election.
Lohani said about 1740 polling personnel will be engaged in the by-election. As many as 102 polling stations have been identified as ‘critical’ while webcasting will be done in 50 % (174 nos.) of the polling stations. Micro observers will be deployed in 26 polling booths.
Braille dummy ballot papers will be made available at Polling Stations for easy reference by visually challenged voters, said Lohani.
