Sachin Tendulkar Health Update: Fans need not worry, says childhood friend- Days after testing positive for COVID-19, Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar was admitted to the hospital on Friday as a precautionary measure. The cricketer confirmed the development via a tweet post that read, “As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalized,” Tendulkar said. He also thanked the fans and loved ones for their wishes and prayers. Now, Sachin’s childhood friend Atul Ranade, who stays in touch with the Master Blaster on a daily basis, has confirmed that Tendulkar has been admitted only as a ‘precautionary measure.’ He added that it will be easy to monitor his health in the hospital. But, he further stated that Sachin had persistent borderline symptoms thus it was necessary to admit him to a hospital.

The cricketer has been admitted to HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Girgaon, South Mumbai, as per media reports.

Speaking to the Times of India, Ranade said, “It’s good that he got hospitalized because it’s much better to monitor him in the hospital. He had persistent borderline symptoms (for COVID-19), so it was necessary. With all the machines available there, they can monitor his health parameters properly.”

Meanwhile, wishes from across the country and around the world have poured in for the cricket great.

One of his close friends, Vinod Kambli said, “On this #GoodFriday, my family and I have prayed for you, my friend. Looking forward to see you soon even healthier than before!”

Former Pakistan cricketer and arch-rival Wasim Akram in a tweet post said he is sure Sachin “will hit COVID-19 for a SIX!”

“Even when you were 16, you battled the world’s best bowlers with guts and aplomb… so I am sure you will hit Covid-19 for a SIX! Recover soon master! Would be great if you celebrate India’s World Cup 2011 anniversary with doctors and hospital staff… do send me a pic!” tweeted Pakistan legend Wasim Akram
