Hyderabad: The long-awaited issue of the regulation of contract coaches in the Telangana State Sports Authority (SATS) continues, and the coaches protested at the Lal Bahadur Stadium on Saturday to end the issue early.
The contract cars of twin cities held the demonstration at the SATS office. LB Stadium handball coach Ravi Kumar, Gachibowli administrator and wrestling coach Nandakishor Gokul, wrestling coach Narsing, archery coach Ravi Shankar, Ratan Bose are among others.
In an interview with Telangana Today, Ravi Kumar, the handball coach at the LB Stadium and administrator, said: ‘The issue has been pending for 28 years. The entire State has only four regular coaches, while others are thirty on a contract basis. There are 40 vacancies. How can an entire state run with so few coaches? We have all the suitability and the Supreme Court also led the state government to have the coaches arranged. But nothing has been done so far, “he said.
He further added that all the contract coaches of the state will come to Hyderabad in this regard. ‘One of our coaches, Satyavani, who worked as DYSO Mahabubnagar and is currently working as a handball coach in Warangal, is threatening to commit suicide. It shows how bad the situation is for us, “he added.
