According to the reports, the movie has garnered Rs. 6 to 8 crores on the first day of its release in tamil Nadu. The movie which was also released in telugu citing the fans of the leads has garnered 1.17 crores. Karthi’s performance and rashmika beauty along with the well-choreographed action sequences played a key role in making the movie a hit.
If the collections are to go by in the same pattern as that of on the first day, Sulthan will not take much to reach the break even. It already stood as second blockbuster hit this year after Vijay’s ‘Master’. We have to wait and see how much money ‘Sulthan’ grosses in the coming days in both the states.
There are now reports doing rounds that the streaming rights of the movie were sold to Disney+Hotstar and that the makers are planning to stream the film 15 days from its theatrical release on the platform. The movie is helmed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and backed by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures. Check out the DAY 1 collection here:
