Hyderabad: Jeedimetla police have arrested A Rajeshwar Rao alias Rajesh, a good friend of M Ramudu (30), who died in an accident on the IDPL road in February. Rao was arrested on charges of inciting Ramudu to drive in a drunken state and was booked for culpable homicide which does not amount to murder.
According to officials, Rajesh, who was aware that his friend was drunk, had him negligently ride, which led to their bike crashing into a road media on the night of February 14th. Ramudu sustained serious injuries and died in the crash while Rajesh, who was riding pillow, was injured. According to police, both drank alcohol together and Ramudu started riding his motorcycle with Rajesh allowing him. This amounted to culpable homicide which did not amount to murder.
Jeedimetla police discussed a case and then arrested Rajesh after he recovered and submitted to the court. The traffic police in Cyberabad have urged the public to investigate further and to act responsibly while driving any vehicle on public roads in the light of road safety. Citizens are urged not to encourage drunk driving for whatever reason.
