Karimnagar: Former MLA Sambaiah dies

Karimnagar: Former MLA Uppari Sambaiah died of poor health on Friday. Sambaiah, who was suffering from paralysis, blew out his last breath at his Kashmirgadda residence at 13:30. He was 83. He is survived by wife, three sons and three daughters.

Sambaiah was elected to the Janata Dal ticket to MLA from the Nerella constituency in 1985 and served the nation until 1990. After the successful completion of his term of office, Sambaiah stayed away from active politics. His son Uppari Ravi works as DCC SC district president.

Ponnam Prabhakar, acting president of TPCC, Chalmeda Laxminarsimha Rao, general secretary of TPCC, Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, president of DCC, paid tribute to the late leader and comforted the family members. Sambaiah’s funeral will be held in Karimnagar on Saturday.
