WWE WrestleMania: UK goes big on WrestleMania, murals take over United Kingdom ahead of title clashes

WWE WrestleMania fever is taking over the United Kingdom. At both London and Glasgow, one large mural depicting the main event of WrestleMania 37 has been created by artists.

These murals have already become the center of attention in their respective cities and are drawing crowds of onlookers, and not just fans of WWE.

The mural at Glasgow has three parts – one featuring Scottish hero Drew McIntyre in the profile picture for the WWE Championship match alongside the defending champion Bobby Lashley.

The other two parts are a generic WrestleMania poster with a host of stars and one painting of Becky Lynch after her historic triumph at WrestleMania 35.

At London, the mural has the poster for the SmackDown Women’s Championship Match featuring Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. However, that’s not all as far as this work of art is concerned. In the center of this mural, depicted in the background, is the iconic image of the clash between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The ‘Great One’ and the ‘Texan Rattle Snake’ went against each other at WrestleMania main events as many as three times. Austin won the first two matches but The Rock triumphed in the third match, which was also the last of Stone Cold’s career.

The murals have already drawn a response from WWE stars featured in them. McIntyre, who won the main event at last year’s WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar, was all praise for those who created this work of art.

As a kid I traveled to the Glasgow wrestling shop to get WWE figures. I went to Uni there whilst pursuing wrestling, then at ICW we took over the city. Now I’m in the @WWE Title match at #WrestleMania and there’s a frickin mural of me in the G. This life…,” The former champion wrote on Twitter.

His opponent at WrestleMania, Bobby Lashley though, struck a different note in his tweet.

Glasgow, this is amazing! Sorry y’all went through all this work just to watch me win at #WrestleMania

WWE WrestleMania 37 takes place at Raymond James Stadium at Tampa, Florida, over two nights – April 10 and 11.
