After the news of Rajnikanth receiving Dadasaheb Phalke Award came out many political leaders and stars from the film industry congratulated him.

Hrithik Roshan shared an unseen picture of him and Rajnikanth on Twitter congratulating him on receiving the honour. Hrithik said that he continues to look up to his greatness. The picture is from Hrithik’s childhood where the two of them are seen hugging.

Hrithik wrote,” My Dearest @rajinikanth
Sir.. Your aura and persona compliments the prestige of Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Makes me so happy to have yet another reason to celebrate YOUR legend. Lots of love & respect, as I continue to look up to your greatness ❤️🙏.”

The award was announced by Prakash Javadekar Information and Broadcasting Minister on 1st April. The minister broke the news through his Twitter handle. He wrote, “Happy to announce #Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019 to one of the greatest actors in history of Indian cinema Rajnikant ji. His contribution as actor, producer and screenwriter has been iconic I thank Jury. @ashabhosle @SubhashGhai1@Mohanlal@Shankar_Live #BiswajeetChatterjee.”
