Eco-tourism center planned at SRSP backwater in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: The Forest Department plans to develop an ecotourism center at the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) backwater and also a community forest reserve in the area with the help of local people to protect wildlife and migratory birds, said Telangana’s chief conservationist of Forest R Shobha said. .

On Friday, she investigated the SRSP backwater along with other officials. Shobha said backwater attracts wild animals and birds, and this is clear because the number of animals and birds in the Nizamabad and Nirmal districts has increased.

According to Shobha, one can spot hundreds of black goat herds in this area and migratory birds such as flamingos and painted storks, especially during the rainy season.

She also asked officials to pay for the services they provide to tourists and use the money to develop facilities such as watchtowers for photography enthusiasts.

Nizamabad DFO Sunil Hiramat, FDO Bhavani Shankar, Forest Range Officer Ganesh, Deputy Range Officers Sudhakar and Narsing Rao were present.
