J&K Darbar move to take place on April 30
Jammu, March 31: The Darbar move in Jammu and Kashmir, the name given to the bi-annual shifting of the secretariat and all other government offices of J and amp;K from one capital city to another, will take place on April 30 from winter capital Jammu to summer capital Srinagar amid reduction in records carriage as the secretariat switches to the e-office mode, officials said on Wednesday.
While chairing a high-level meeting to review the preparations for the summer Darbar move, Jiamp;K Chief Secretary B.V.R. Subrahmanyam informed that there will be a substantial reduction in the transportation of records during the bi-annual shifting of capital from Jammu to Srinagar on April 30.
It was informed that the government has taken concrete steps to switch to a paperless office mode. Most of the official records have been uploaded digitally, while training of the employees has also begun.
The switch to the online mode will avoid wear and tear as well as loss of official records during the bi-annual transit, besides saving the associated transportation cost.
All the offices will reopen in the summer capital of Srinagar on May 10.
The meeting also reviewed the arrangements being made to transport the employees and the limited records from Jammu to Srinagar between May 1-2 and May 8-9. The security/escort plan, availability of trucks and buses, recovery vans, mobile workshops, health facilities and ambulances along the highway were also discussed threadbare.
