New Delhi: Respect and reassuring messages poured in on Thursday for southern superstar Rajinikanth, who will be honored with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Minutes after Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar announced on Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Rajinikanth on a tweet, “Congratulations Talaivar”. Soon, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu also tweeted.

The chief minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, applauded the central government for awarding the coveted and highest film award in the country to the famous southern film actor.
Rao said Rajanikanth, who has developed a unique style in the film career, has numerous fans in the country and around the world, and it is amazing that he is selected for the prestigious Phalke Award.
Political party leaders in Tamil Nadu greeted actor Rajinikanth for meeting with Dadasaheb Phalke. Prime Minister K. Palaniswami said in a tweet that he had wished Rajinikanth by telephone.

Actor politician Kamal Haasan also greeted Rajinikanth with a tweet. The highest award applies to Rajini 100 percent, because he proved that one can only win fans on screen.
Rajini is called Talaivar or “Style Mannan” in the Tamil film industry.

The jury for the Dada Saheb Phalke Award consists of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Tamil composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan, in addition to veteran singer Asha Bhosle and filmmaker Subhash Ghai.
Rajnikant is very popular in all the southern states and also in Bollywood. All his films are always baptized in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and have set the silver screen on fire for many generations.
Tamil Nadu towns and cities have burst into joy over the announcement of Rajini’s achievement. People took to the streets and hundreds reached the Poes Garden residence.
At Salem, people celebrated Rajini’s Phalke victory by spreading sweets and lighting cookies.
Manonmani G., a homemaker from Salem, told IANS: ‘Rajini deserves the award. He is the greatest actor of Indian film and this award grows big after Rajini won it. I still remember every dialogue of his time movies “Basha”, “Padayappa” and others.
The Minister of Information and Broadcasting asked if this award was awarded to Rajinikanth to influence the Tamil Nadu election, Javadekar said: “It has nothing to do with the Tamil Nadu election”.
