Jangaon: Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao has instructed officials to take all necessary steps to procure paddy for this Yasangi season without causing problems at the shopping malls.
Speaking at a review meeting with officials on Thursday, he said they expect a yield of 3.67 lakh tons of paddy from the district for this Yasangi season.
‘To keep this in mind, officials set up 191 paddy shopping malls, 28 lakh bags, 4592 sails and 203 weighing machines. There are five warehouses and 35 rice factories in the district, ”he added. Rao asked officials to ensure that farmers do not experience problems at the shopping malls while selling his products, and instructed the officials to appoint one officer who is responsible for each town. Since the affairs of the Covid-19 again on the rise, he asked officials to make farmers aware of precautions such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and using sanitation at the shopping malls to check the spread of the pandemic. He also stresses the need to create awareness among people about sowing the fine variety (sanna rakalu) in the upcoming Vanakalam season.
Later, when he spoke to the media, he slammed the Modi government at the center for failing to allocate appropriate funds to the state. “Although the center awards grants to the state of Telangana, it does not allocate money to irrigation projects and the Mission Bhagiratha scheme,” he added. “Although Telangana can earn 1,800 million euros annually, only 1,300 million has been allocated this year,” Rao said. He said, however, that the TRS government approves 308 million to the Gram Panchayats every month.
