Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) With a continuous trend of daily increase in Coronavirus cases, Telangana registered one of the biggest daily spike of 887 fresh COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Wednesday pushing the state's tally of cumulative COVID-19 cases to 3,08,776 as on date.
The state recorded four fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 taking the death toll so far to 1,701 translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Thursday.
In a span of 24 hours, 337 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide taking the overall recoveries thus far to 3,01,564 constituting a recovery rate of 97.66 per cent while the National recovery was 93.9 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stand at 5,511 including 2,166 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
A total of 59,297 swab samples were tested in the state between Tuesday and Wednesday to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 1,370 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 1,02,10,906 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.
Remaining the main contributor of the infection, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported a maximum of 201 new Coronavirus cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (79), Nirmal district (78), Rangareddy district (76) and Jagityal district (56).
The remaining COVID-19 cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
