Hyderabad: Minister of Towels, KT Rama Rao, launched eGolkonda Thursday here, which will facilitate craftsmen and towel lovers across the country with the click of a button access to Telangana products. The portal will be gradually upgraded to facilitate global marketing.
Since the founding of Telangana State, there have been efforts to strengthen Telangana Handicrafts Development Corporation. The move to launch the eGolkonda portal was to provide space for e-marketing around the world for Telangana craft and towel products, Rama Rao said.
With the statement that eGolkonda advances several private e-commerce sites in terms of design and operational convenience, it can send the products to any part of the country via the portal to people from any part of the country. After obtaining the necessary permits from the Central Government, facilities will be made available to send the towel products and handicrafts to any part of the world, he said.
“The best thing about eGolkonda is that people get the opportunity to see each product in a 3D format. It will even be accessible via cellphones, ”the minister said.
This portal will help with the marketing and promotion of Telangana crafts and towels on a large scale, the minister added.
