Second phase of Assembly polls: 33.24% turnout in Assam, 37.42% in West Bengal till 1 pm

Voting is now underway in Assam and West Bengal for the second phase of the Assembly elections. In Bengal, there are 30 constituencies in the fray, including the the high-profile Nandigram seat which will see CM Mamata Banerjee take on Suvendu Adhikari. Meanwhile in Assam, over 73.44 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in 10,592 polling stations to elect representatives from 39 seats.
