Hyderabad: The Makkah Masjid is again attacked by attacks.
This time it is construction activities in the Panchmohalla area, to the south side of the historic mosque. A plate was lifted, which is very close to the smaller minarets, and even slightly damaged the outside wall.
According to sources, construction activities near the wall along the Khilwat and Panchmohalla roads near the wall are not a new phenomenon. However, the most recent construction activity started about 20 days ago.
The Department of Welfare for Minorities, instead of taking a closer look at the intrusion activity and stopping it altogether, is in the process of reversing the nature of the employment of staff annually.
According to the sources, a complaint has been sent to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, which is submitting the case to the civilian body. However, action still needs to be taken.
The Makkah Masjid has been the victim of decay for years. But after several representations, conservation work began, but not before portions submitted.
A source requesting anonymity said that even in the past, there have been several representations that have been brought to the attention of the government, whether the state of decay or of transgressions. In the past, walls were built on top of the outer wall of the Makkah Masjid.
What is needed now is the systematic removal of transgressions, of which the joint effort is lacking.
