Panchkula, March 31
Dozens of parents of students of Valley Public School, Sector 4, Mansa Devi Complex, today gathered outside the school to protest against its management for holding results of their wards.
Parents alleged they had been told by the school management that report card of their wards would not be released until they paid last year’s pending annual charges. After getting no response from the school, parents approached the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Sector 1 to seek his intervention in the matter.
“We have been visiting school daily from last few days to get results of our children, but the management keeps on demanding pending dues. The school administration locked the main gate and parents were not allowed to meet the principal,” said a parent while talking to mediapersons today.
“Despite financial constraints, we paid tuition fee on time for every month throughout the year. Now, the school is asking for annual fee for releasing results,” she added. The school authorities were also reluctant to listen to parents, she said.
According to parents, they had complained in this regard to the District Education Officer (DEO), who assured them to look into the matter.
