Instagram has announced Remix on Reels features as a way for creators to express themselves in a different way. It will allow users to create their own version of Reels that have been shared by others. Both these versions will be played together and thus creating a "remix". The feature is inspired by TikTok Duets which is a hugely popular feature on the platform.
Remix on Reels is a feature that is available for all Instagram users around the globe. It can be accessed by visiting any Reel that you are interested in recreating and tapping the three-dot icon. You will see a new option named "Remix This Reel" in the list of options that will take you to the remix creation mode.

It should be noted that Remix on Reels will be enabled by default for all new reels shared on the platform. As for older Reels available on the network, they will either need to be re-uploaded or creators will have to enable the feature manually. The app will send you a notification whenever someone will remix your reel. The announcement reveals that the feature rollout has already begun in a gradual manner. Reels on Remix will be enabled for all public accounts by default.
