Chennai, Apr 1 (UNI) Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday
thanked the Central government and Prime Minister Narendra
for conferring him with the highest honour Dadasaheb Phalke
award and dedicated the award to all those who have been a
part of his journey.
He also thanked the Almighty for bestowing him with this award.
He was third film personality from Tamil Nadu to bag this prestigious
award after Thespian Sivaji Ganesan and director K Balachander.
Thanking the Centre and Mr Modi for conferring the highest
award, Rajini, in a tweet, said he was immensely humbled by
Mr Modi's greetings and dedicated the award to all those
who have been a part of his journey.
'My heartfelt thanks to the government of india, respected
& dearest @narendramodi ji, @PrakashJavdekar ji and the jury
for conferring upon me the prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeAward",
he said.

Tagging Mr Modi's tweet greeting him, Rajini said 'immensely
humbled and honoured with your greetings and the most

dearest Shri @narendramodi ji. My heartfelt thanks to you
and the government of india'.
Rajini, in a statement posted in his twitter handle, said he
was dedicating this award to his driver-friend Raj Bahadur,
who had spotted his acting talent and encouraged him,
brother Sathranarayana Rao Gaekwad, who made many
sacrifices while in poverty and introduced him to the film
world, mentor and Director K Balachander, who created
this Rajinikanth, film producers, technical assistants,
distributors, theatre owners, media, the people of Tamil
Nadu and his fans all over the world.
He also thanked Mr Palaniswami, Mr Panneerselvam,
Opposition leader Stalin, friend Kamal Haasan, state
and central leaders,friends and his well wishers for
greeting him on the occasion.
