Heatwave conditions likely to prevail in Telangana, AP : Met

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the districts Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool and Mahabubnagar during the next 48 hours, Meteorological Centre said on Thursday.
In a bulletin here, it said that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next three days and in East Godavari & West Godavari district of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
Maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degree celsius at isolated places of Telangana on April 3 and 4.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on April 4 and 5.
Dry weather is likely to prevail in Telangana, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the next five days.
Severe heatwave conditions prevailed in Bapatla, Tuni, Ongole, Nellore and Vijayawada in Andhra
Pradesh during the last 24 hours, the bulletin said.
The highest maximum temperature of 42.4 degree Celsius and 43 degree Celsius was recorded in Bhadrachalam of Telangana and Vijayawada of Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures of 39.9 degree celsius and 22.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Hyderabad yesterday, the bulletin added.
