Hi everyone, I need some help here. I'm currently setting up our company workflow and it seems to be working pretty well. When a file transitions from "Waiting for Approval" to "Approved", our drawing revision table will add it's first row with revision "00", "Released for Production", the approvers name and the approve date populated in the revsion table which is perfect....exactly what we want to happen. Here is the problem. When there is a revision and the part is being transitioned between "Under Change" to "Change Pending Approval", when the designer enters the change (in this case "added hole") in the comment field, the comment "Released for Production" that was originally in the drawing revision block is wiped out and the change comment goes in it's place in the revision 00 row instead of revision 01 row. The description in the revision 01 row is left blank.
I don't know if I have a mistake somewhere in my workflow or if it's a bug. Can someone help?
Thanks so much in advance!!!!
Hi Ray,
It may be worth you mentioning which version of PDM (and SP) you are using, as this functionality has worked on / off for the last few releases and even dependent on Service Pack. There was a new issue in 2021 SP1 that messed up rows when new revs where added - that was reported as fixed in 2021 SP2.
Also are you creating the new Rev number on Revise or Release? In my experience you need to use the 'Revise' transition to add the new row (Revision), then add the Description (we use a validated variable on datacard) before you stamp the Revision on release.
