President, VP, PM greet Odisha people on the occasion of "Utkal Divas", formation of separate state

Bhubaneswar, Apr 1 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkal Divas.
Mr Kovind wished a bright future and prosperity for Odisha. Taking to Twitter the President said “Utkala Dibasa greetings to my sisters and brothers of Odisha. Praying for Odisha's constant progress and prosperity in the times to come.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu also greeted the people on the formation day of the state. In a message, Mr Naidu said, ''Odisha is known for its marvellous monuments, unique handicrafts, breathtaking beaches and diverse wildlife.
“My best wishes for the prosperity of the state and wellbeing of its vibrant people.Utkal Dibasa.", he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter said “Greetings on the special occasion of Utkala Dibasa. I bow to the unique culture of Odisha.”
“ The people of Odisha have contributed immensely to India’s progress. May the people of the state be blessed with happiness and good health” Mr Modi said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted the people of Odisha on the formation of the state 85 years back.
Mr Shah taking to Twitter “On ‘Utkala Dibasa’, I extend my warm greetings to our beloved sisters and brothers of Odisha. May the divine land of Maha-Prabhu Jagannath continue to scale new heights of progress. I pray for everyone's well-being and prosperity”.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also greeted the people of Odisha on the occasion.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Patnaik said Odisha is known for unity, braveness and self-respect and called upon the people of the state to fight against the coronavirus and keep the "ourself and family safe”.Bande Utkal Janani."
UnionPetroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also greeted the people of Odisha.
In a message, Mr Pradhan said “ I call upon each of my Odia brothers and sisters to ignite the spirit of” Dharmapada” for transforming Odisha into a developed, prosperous and Atma Nirbhar state and also for serving the humanity.
Mr Pradhan tweeted “Greetings to my brothers and sisters in Odisha and fellow Odias across the globe on the auspicious occasion of 86th Utkal Divas today. Let us remember and revere our greats whose significant contribution led to the formation of Odisha as a separate state.
After a long struggle, Odisha on this date (April 1) in 1936 was formed as a separate state and since then the day is being observed as Utkal Divas. This day is celebrated across the state following the covid norms and guidelines as the state government has restricted the gatherings in view of the covid pandemic and the surge in the covid cases in the past few days.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the Gopabandhu statue which has been named as "statue of humanity" at cantonment road in Cuttack and dedicated a High relief mural sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi at Bellevue square in Cuttack.
