CHANDIGARH: Jind emerged as another hotspot district with sudden surge of Covid as
Haryana on Wednesday reported 1,106 cases, 8 deaths and 809 recoveries during the day.
Meanwhile, 1,08,900 persons were given the vaccine jabs on the second day of
Mega vaccination drive across the state.
According to information, 1,06,244 people were given the first dosage while 2,656 persons were given the second jab. With this the overall vaccination in the state has crossed one and half million mark with a figure of 15,91,599.
On Covid front, the state’s tally has gone to 290800 cases, 277919 recoveries, 3155 deaths and 9726 active cases. Increased cases have impacted the recovery rate which has come down to 95.57%. While state recorded a Covid positive rate of 4.66% and death rate of 1.08%.
Two deaths each were reported from Karnal,
Panipat and Kurukshetra districts respectively. While one death each was reported from Faridabad and Kaithal districts.
Gurugram topped the daily count with 276 cases during the day. This took the district tally to 63027 cases, 364 deaths and 1942 active cases. Karnal reported 182 cases where tally has gone to 14454 cases, 169 deaths and 255 active cases. Ambala reported 105 cases where overall tally has gone to 14095 cases, 159 deaths and 1121 active cases.,
Jind reported a surge of 98 cases followed by Yamunanagar with 93 cases. , 81 new cases were reported from Kuruksshetra, 70 from Faridabad, 22 from Sirsa,18 from Hisar, 12 each from Panipat and Kaithal districts, 11 from from Rohtak, 10 from
Bhiwani .
With Palwal and Jhajjar districts reporting zero cases, rest nine districts reported less than 10 cases.
Sharing information on the Vaccination Centres across the state ACS health Rajeev Arora said that 1,058 Vaccination Centres were created across the state which are evenly spread. Of these Centres, 874 are government run and 184 are private Centres, he added.
