Pradeep John, the Tamil Nadu Weatherman said in a tweet, "Chennai Meenambakkam records 41.3C and beats all-time record for the hottest day of March month, Chennai Meenambakkam had recorded 39.2 C on 31 March 2014 and Chennai Nungambakkam had recorded 40.6 C recorded on 29th March 1953".

Vellore recorded 41.3 C, Tiruthani 41 deg C, Trichy 40.9 deg C, Madurai 40.5 deg C and Karur Paramathi 40.2 deg C.
