Italy's Council of State confirms validity of 3.5 GHz licence ruling

Wednesday 31 March 2021 | 10:13 CET | News
Italy's Council of State, the country's highest administrative court, has confirmed the validity of a 2018 decision by the industry ministry to grant a 6-year extension to licences owned by WiMax providers Linkem, Aria, Go Internet and Mandarin to use 5G-capable frequencies in the 3.4-3.6 GHz range. The court's judgment overturns a ruling issued in 2019 by the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio, which accepted appeals lodged by Telecom Italia (TIM), Iliad and Vodafone Italia against the price of the extension.
