LinkedIn is working on Clubhouse rival: Report

NEW DELHI: There is no doubt that Clubhouse has grabbed all the limelight among new social media platforms, especially after TikTok. The growing popularity of the audio chat app is compelling tech giants to come up with alternatives. Twitter already has a Clubhouse rival called Spaces and soon Facebook and Spotify will also join the list. Now, it appears that LinkedIn is also gearing up to being its own Clubhouse rival.
The professional social networking platform has confirmed that it is also working on an audio feature. As reported by TechCrunch, LinkedIn is developing an audio networking feature of its own.
In a statement to TechCrunch, LinkedIn said, "We’re doing some early tests to create a unique audio experience connected to your professional identity. And, we’re looking at how we can bring audio to other parts of LinkedIn such as events and groups, to give our members even more ways to connect to their community."
LinkedIn also confirmed that it will soon start the beta testing of the feature. Same as Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces, the audio feature on LinkedIn will come with a stage of speakers and also the list of people in the audience lower down the screen.
Recently, LinkedIn rolled out a new feature called Creator mode. This feature allows LinkedIn users with tools to display their content prominently and also engage with their community and build their following.
LinkedIn said that with the Creator mode, the 'Connect' button will be replaced with the new 'follow' button. The company will start rolling out the feature globally for LinkedIn members this week.
