The Bombay HC on Tuesday said it would hear on Wednesday a PIL filed by ex-Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh for a CBI probe against Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh for alleged “corrupt malpractices.”
Singh had alleged that Deshmukh had met with police officers, including Sachin Waze, and asked for collection of Rs 100 crore. His counsel Vikram Nankani and Sunny Punamiya mentioned it before a bench of chief justice Dipankar Datta and justice Girish Kulkarni and sought an urgent hearing.
Two more PILs were filed — one by Divesh Vora and the other by Mohan Bhideseeking an independent probe into allegations against Deshmukh. The fourth petition, filed by advocate Jaishri Patil, came up before a bench of Justices SS Shinde and Manish Pitale. It adjourned it to April 1.
