30 students from Baroda qualify as CMA

Vadodara: Around 30 students from Baroda region have qualified as cost and management accountant (CMA) and 107 students have cleared their intermediate examination.
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared results of its intermediate and final stages of the examination for the December 2020 term which has been merged with the June 2020 term.
Of the 127 students who had appeared in group-I of intermediate exam, 51 cleared the exam giving 40.16 % result.
Similarly, 123 students had appeared in group-II of which 79 cleared giving 64,23 % result. A total of 45 out of 106 who had appeared in both the groups cleared their exams giving 42.45 % result.
In group III of CMA final, of the 87 students who had appeared, ten cleared their exams giving 11.49 % result while in group IV, 18 out of 40 who had appeared cleared their exams giving 45 % result.
A total of 19 out of 77 students who had appeared in both group-III and group-IV cleared their exams giving 24.68 % result.
Baroda chapter of ICAI facilitated the successful students and motivated them. “These professionals who are qualified CMA are now ready to enter the real market and showcase their abilities,” said Hardik Diwanji, chairman of ICAI’s Baroda chapter.

He travelled 102 km daily to finish CMA
Vadodara: Achieving his goals has not been easy for Anuj Pathak, a resident of Kalol. Anuj had to travel four hours daily covering a distance of 102 km from Kalol to Vadodara to pursue his studies. Since, his graduation days at MSU’s Faculty of Commerce, Anuj has been doing up-down in state transport bus to finish his bachelors in commerce, diploma in taxation practice, import-export management and now cost and management accountant (CMA).
“I want to continue practice as CMA,” said Anuj, whose father Ramesh is a farmer and secretary at Derol station’s APMC while mother Varsha Pathak is a homemaker.
Relatives motivated this fatherless boy
Maitik Solanki had lost his father at a very young age. But Maitik’s mother, his maternal uncle and aunt kept motivating him to pursue his studies. “My father passed away in 2007 but my ‘mama’ and my ‘foi’ were the ones who not only financially supported me but also kept motivating me to study further,” said Maitik, who joined CMA after finishing his BCom studies in 2007. Maitik whose focus is to clear CMA final after clearing CMA intermediate on Monday is currently also working at a private firm in Manjusar GIDC.
“After clearing my CMA final, I was to work in a reputed firm,” said Maitik, whose mother Saroj runs a beauty parlour and also works at a ‘papad’ manufacturing unit to support the family that comprises of Maitik’s grandparents and his younger brother.
His consistent efforts paid off
After finishing his bachelors of commerce (BCom) studies he had started preparing from cost and management accountant (CMA) exams. But in 2018 tragedy struck Vivek Pandya’s family when his father Yogesh met with a road accident. “I had appeared for the CMA exams but fall short of 15 marks. Instead of 200, I managed to get only 185 marks,” recollects Vivek.
While he started working in accounts department at city-based Bhailal Amin General Hospital to support his family comprising of his homemaker mother Sheela, Vivek also focused on clearing CMA.
“I have cleared intermediate. Now, I will focus on clearing CMA final and qualify as CMA while continuing my job to support my family,” he said.
