Assam Elections 2021: “Congress wants to make people fight in the name of regional differences,” says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today addressed a public rally Kamrup, Assam ahead polls.

While campaigning for the second and third phase of the Assam elections 2021, on Wednesday, March 31, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally Kamrup, Assam and attacked on Congress and accused the party for discriminating people in the name of regional differences.

Union Home Minister Shah said while addressing the rally, “Congress wants to make people fight in the name of Bodo-Non Bodo, Assamese-Bengali, Hindu-Muslim, upper Assam-lower Assam and Tribe-Non Tribe. Slogan of Narendra Modi Ji is ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.”

Further, Shah mentioned, “When we will provide drinking water to every household, then water will reach houses of Muslims also. Minorities will also get houses when we will provide it to everyone. Minorities, Tribals and Bodos will also Rs 10,000 that Assam govt will provide to farmers,” as quoted by ANI.

Apparently, the Union Home Minister tries to make it clear that there will be no discrimination under their governance. On the other side, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today offered prayers at the famous Kamakhya temple in Guwahati, Assam ahead polls.

The third phase of polling is to be held on April 6 that consist of 40 constituencies. An important fact to be noted is that most of these constituencies have a Muslim-majority population. The vote count will be done on May 2, 2021.
