COVID beds in hospitals being increased: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here on Tuesday said that beds, including those in Intensive Care Units, earmarked for COVID patients, are being increased in the National Capital in the view of rising COVID cases in the city.

"In view of COVID situation developing in Delhi, No. of normal and ICU beds reserved for COVID is being increased in a few hospitals. This will improve bed availability," Mr Kejriwal wrote on his official Twitter handle.

He said the Delhi Government was keeping a close eye over the situation and Delhiites did not need to feel panic.

"We r keeping close watch and will take all steps necessary. There is nothing to worry. But pl follow all precautions (sic)," he added.

The city has been registering more than 1,500 cases on a daily basis for several days.

In February, Delhi had been recording less than 200 cases in a day.

The Delhi government has started conducting random COVID tests at railway stations, metro stations and local markets.
