Kakinada, Mar 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Social Welfare Pinipe Viswaroop has said that East Godavari was in the forefront in speedy rehabilitation of the families of the victims of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes atrocities cases by providing employment to as many as 28 victims families.
Addressing the district level vigilance and monitoring committee on SC-ST atrocities held at the collectorate here on Tuesday, he said, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was keen on rendering speedy justice to the victims' families and also stringent punishment to the accused in SC ST atrocities cases.
He has suggested the police officials expedite the investigation and file the charge sheets within 38 days in SC ST atrocities cases.
District Collector D Muralidhara Reddy said that a total of 562 cases were registered in the district under the SC-ST atrocities prevention act since 2018 and Rs.3,68,36,250 compensation was paid to the victims in 383 cases.
He said compensation would be extended to the victims in the pending cases soon.
Superintendent of police Adnan Nayeem Asmi said that investigating teams led by DSPs were striving hard to complete the investigation in SC ST atrocities cases expeditiously. Minister for BC welfare Ch Venugopalakrishna, MP Chinta Anuradha, MLA Kondeti Chittibabu have advised the officials at the field level to work in the true spirit of the Chief Minister’s policies so as to render speedy justice to the victims in SC ST atrocities cases.
Joint Collector welfare wing G Rajakumari, Rajahmjundry Sub collector Anupama Anjali, DRO Sathibabu, ZP CEO Satyanarayana, JD social welfare Rangalakshmi Devi were among those who attended.
