I took a couple of weeks off from the sauce, and lifts went up noticeably.
Had a weekend of a few beers on Saturday and Sunday and Monday’s lifts were back to struggling at lower weight - obviously booze is not helping.
Was curious (I know MISC doesn’t lift), but for those of us that pretend to...
do you drink? If you do, how often, and at what quantities?
If you quit, even temporarily, did gains skyrocket?

Take this with a grain of salt. But I pretty much maintain for periods of time while drinking and eating "meh" and then will quit drinking for one or two months before vacations and/or if I'm single and trying to get aesthetic. IMO you can maintain while drinking regularly, you can't really make significant gains.

Yes. I drink every weekend or every other weekend. I tend not to drink weekdays so I don't feel like chit at work. My motivation and workouts were absolute garbage when I drank beer. I think it was because I always got bar food while drinking beer?
Now I typically drink Tequila, Whiskey or Wine.
I think it was more so the combination? Before it was like...
Beer + Pizza
Beer + Fried Macaroni & Cheese balls
Beer + Mozarella sticks & fries.
Now it's
Eat dinner, protein + veggies then drink tequila after.
Steak + potatoes + whiskey
cheese, jam, crackers, salami/parmaham + wine
I feel better drinking a bottle of tequila rather than 6 beers.
If I do drink beer it'll be a light beer and i'll only have 1-2 at a bbq.

Every weekend or every other weekend - a whole bottle of tequila or whiskey. Sometimes Friday & Saturday but usually just Friday.

I noticed when I quit doing coke my gains skyrocketed.
There was a time I was drinking 4x a week - was like Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday and I made tons of gains. It was hard alcohol only though and I didn't go off my diet for 2 months straight. I definitely changed my workout routine during that time though. It was 5 sets 20 reps and it's the most gains I've ever made. I mean I probably had 6 on Saturday and about the same on Sunday. I didn’t sleep great either night, and probably didn’t hydrate enough either, but its not like I was getting super yucky - Saturday and Sunday were rookie numbers. Just realized how much it actually impacts, and thinking about taking an extended break.

I mean do you for sure. Binging heavy caloric drinks will definitely give you a loss the next day, but if you're doing an ounce of whiskey every other night or something that shouldn't have significant impacts on any gains or lifts.
I'd avoid getting yammed out of your mind but the key is moderation. A drink here or a drink there really shouldn't impact you at all.***Mariah Carey is my 10/10 Crew***

I’ll usually drink once a week on Friday or Saturday. Could be anywhere from 2-10 light beers, seltzer’s, couple whiskey shots thrown in there. Never drink Sunday through Thursday. I make gains, but I’m sure they would be a lot better if I cut down on that one weekend bender/Sunday rot day

I don't get plastered or drunk really anymore, but I still drink all the time. I'm still making gains, but I'm also not really trying to go crazy with the whole lifting/bodybuilding lifestyle anymore. More of a balanced one. It got to the point when I was younger I wouldn't eat dinner with my fiance because I went to the gym after work and preferred to have my after workout shake instead. Fuking retarded.
