India to enable adoption of ATSC standards for broadcast services on mobile devices

The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) has signed an agreement with Telecommunications Standards Development Society of India (TSDSI), to enable TSDSI to adopt ATSC standards, and promote global harmonization of digital broadcasting standards. According to TSDSI, this agreement facilitates the adaptation of ATSC standards by TSDSI for India-specific use cases for live/linear broadcast and broadcast traffic offload. TSDSI developed a technical study report on Broadcast Traffic Offload in early 2020.
