Ruling BJD, Congress candidates among 12 to file nominations for Pipili Assembly by election today

Puri,Mar 30(UNI) Rudra Pratap Maharathy son of Former Pipili BJD leader Pradip Maharathy on Tuesday filed his papers as BJD candidate before the Returning officer for Pipili Assembly by election.

He was accompanied by his mother and sister, ministers Samir Dash and Snehangini Chhuria, Senior BJD leader Debi Prasad Mishra , Vice chairperson of state planning board Sanjay Kumar Dasburma and BJD district president Maheswar Mohanty

By election for Pipili assembly seat was necessitated after demise of Pradip Maharathy.

Hundreds of BJD activists came in a rally from Pipili to Puri shouting “Maharathy Amar rahe”.

Mr.Ajit Mangaraj the district Congress president also came in a huge procession along with former PCC president Prasad Harichandan and filed papers for the Pipili assembly seat.

Earlier on March 26 last Mr.Asrit Pattanaik the BJP nominee too came in a procession and filed papers.

On the last day as many as twelve candidates had filed papers increasing the total number of contestant to15 for the assembly seat.

Kolkata, Mar 30 (UNI) India's former speedster and BJP's Moina assembly seat candidate Ashok Dinda was today sustained minor injury and his car was vandalised at Moina Bazar in East Medinipur, allegedly in an attack orchestrated by the TMC supporters. The ECI has ordered a probe into the incident.
