Pune, Mar 30 (UNI) Heat wave conditions in most pockets, with severe heat wave at isolated spots, were observed over Rajasthan, said the India Meteorological Department on Tuesday.
Heat wave conditions also prevailed at isolated portions over Himachal Pradesh.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1 degree Celsius or more) at most places over west Rajasthan.
They were also markedly above par at many areas over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and east Rajasthan as well at a few sites over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
They were also markedly above norm at isolated terrains over west Uttar Pradesh.
They were appreciably above normal (3.1 degree C to 5.0 degree C) at most locales over Punjab and Jharkhand as well at many nooks over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Vidarbha.
They were appreciably above par at a few sections over Gangetic West Bengal, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Saurashtra and Kutch as well at isolated chunks over Konkan and Goa.
Day temperatures were above normal (1.6 degree C to 3.0 degree C) at most parts over Chhattisgarh, Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
They were also above norm at many corners over coastal Karnataka and at a few regions over Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Telangana.
They were also above par at isolated belts over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, while they were near normal over the rest of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 43.3 degree C was reported at Churu (west Rajasthan) and Bramhapuri (Vidarbha) in the country.
Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1 degree C or more) at a few slices over east Rajasthan and at isolated sections over west Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh.
They were appreciably above par (3.1 degree C to 5.0 degree C) at most tracts over Punjab and at many zones over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
They were also appreciably above norm at a few stretches over west Uttar Pradesh, Gengetic West Bengal and east Madhya Pradesh as well at isolated niches over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, east Uttar Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Saurashtra and Kutch.
Night temperatures were above normal (1.6 degree C to 3.0 degree C) at most sectors over Chhattisgarh and at many areas over coastal Karnataka, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
They were above par at a few zones over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Gujarat Region, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Odisha as well at isolated parcels over Jharkhand, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Night temperatures were below norm (minus 1.6 degree C to minus 3.0 degree C) at a few slices over Kerala and Mahe, while they were near normal over the remaining parts of the country.
The lowest minimum temperature of 15.0 degree C was reported over the plains of the country at Pantnagar (Uttarakhand).
Thunderstorm occurred at a few chunks over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad as well at isolated quarters over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe during past 24 hours ended 0830 hours in the morning.
Rain or thundershowers had lashed at many divisions in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the period.
They had battered a few patches in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands as well at isolated zones in Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and south Interior Karnataka during the period.
Dry weather prevailed over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
