Five are being held for the transport of gutkha parcels in Medak

Medak: While a gang in a DCM vehicle was transporting banned gutkha packets from Karnataka to Chhattisgarh, another gang followed them on the spot, threatened them and on March 25 the gutkha packet at Masaipet under Chegunt police station in Medak district taken away.

After a case was filed by victims Sabras Khalik and Haimad, who had gutkha parcels in a DCM, a gang of five members stopped their vehicle at Masaipet by blocking the road with their vehicle and all the take away gutka packets in their DCM vehicle.

Police in Chegunta, led by police sub-inspector Subhash Gold, arrested the five-member gang on Tuesday. The accused were identified as Khande Rao, Anil, Pandari, Prem and Raju.

Police recovered 6.5 million in cash, a DCM vehicle and Innova. The investigation is ongoing.
