Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is gearing up to launch a gaming phone. The company’s general manager Lu Weibing teased the upcoming phone a couple of months ago. Now, an online report has revealed some of the likely specifications of the device.


As suggested by leakster Digital Chat Station, the handset may come with a punch-hole camera Samsung E4 display similar to the Xiaomi Mi 11 and Redmi K40. The phone is said to feature an OLED screen.


The smartphone may be powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 1200 chipset built on 6nm architecture. It is also rumoured that the phone could house a 5,000mAh battery. The report also suggests that the device have 65watt fast charging technology that is said to juice up the device in 30 minutes.


Redmi’s gaming phone is expected to come with physical shoulder triggers. The buttons will help achieve four-finger operation easily and are said to enhance the gaming experience on the device.


The gaming smartphone is expected to be priced in the range of CNY 2,000 (approx. Rs 22,000) to CNY 2,500 (approx. Rs 27,000). This means that the Redmi gaming phone could be the cheapest gaming phone in the market.
