Story was good and her character was also good, but padmini Kolhapuri didn’t like to act bold. With that even though he is a star director, she refused to act in that movie. rajeev Kapoor is the hero in this film and after padmini rejected to act in this movie they had chosen Mandakini as heroine. Later with this movie Mandakini earned a lot of craze in youth. Mandakini, who almost acted uncovered in this movie got stardom later.

In a recent interview padmini Kolhapuri went into her 1980’s life and then she memorized ram Theri ganga Maili movie details. She said how hard director raj kapoor tried to make her as heroine for that movie. After she said no, he shooted the film for 45 days with Mandakini. Even then also he gave an offer to padmini saying that he will reshoot. But again she softly said no.
