Not just as the director, puri also gave story, screenplay, and dialogues to the movie. The way he directed the movie grabbed the attention of one and all. badri holds the record for being the first ever telugu movie to be released in U.S.A.

The movie successfully completed 50 days in 85 centers and 100 successful days in 47 centers across U.S.A. The movie which was made on a small budget of 7 crores grossed 16 crores there, which also is a small record for itself.

The movie featured renu desai and Ameesh patel in the female lead roles. They both mesmerized the telugu audience with their beauty and glamour. It is the first movie for renu with pawan and they fell head over heels in love with each other on the sets itself. The movie also featured prakash raj, Kota Srinivasarao, sangeetha, Ramaprabha, Brahmananda, Ali, Mallikarjun, and M.S. Narayana in pivotal roles.
