After crunching its way through the box office via a smash opening and fantastic holds over the next two day, Godzilla vs. Kong has witnessed a big jump in its collections on day four, with Saturday coming into play at the major multiplexes, especially across the South markets. The movie keeps on proving that the public, especially the family audience is willing to come to theatres for good cinema with that big-screen experience, a mid-week release, lockdown reinforced in certain areas, night curfews in more than a few areas, and 50% occupancy almost everywhere notwithstanding. After a “monstrous” opening, Godzilla vs. Kong has registered hitherto its highest figure on day four with Rs. 6.42 crore nett, taking its 4-day total to a very attractive Rs. 22.44 crore nett, especially during these uncertain times. Though the collections are considerably lower in the North circuits, the Godzilla vs. Kong has performed better in these markets than what both Roohi and Mumbai Saga have, proving that Bollywood needs to wake up, smell the coffee and give its audience what it really wants in terms of entertainment on the big screen. In fact, if it weren't for the second wave of coronavirus surging through the country, the movie would have most definitely hit or at least come mighty close to the 100-crore nett mark.
