GURUGRAM: At least three people were injured after a part of an under-construction flyover on Dwarka Expressway collapsed near Daultabad, Sector 106 on Sunday morning.
Around seven to eights workers were present at the site at the time of the incident. The injured awere rushed to a nearby private hospital.
According to locals, the part of the flyover along with the heavy machinery collapsed on the ground at around 7.30am.
"The cause of the collapse is not known yet and the matter is under investigation. We are questioning L&T officials who have arrived at the site" a senior police official said.
The rescue teams have reached the spot and are removing the concrete to ascertain no worker is under the debris.
Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh had visited the project recently to review its progress and directed the authorities to complete the project by the end of this year.
Two weeks back, a social media video showing four workers having a narrow escape as a girder weighing several tonnes comes off the hook and falls on to the ground went viral.
The accident happened on February 12 at the construction site of the Dwarka Expressway near pillar 16 on Pataudi Road.
