How does Solidworks Simulation Basic Motion/MotionAnalyis handle rotational mechanics

Discussion created by David Nolan on Mar 28, 2021

I want to simulate something that requires a realistic physics engine, Which is the best to use Basic Motion or Motion Analysis?

Specifically I want to simulate some experiments involving centripetal force and the psuedo force, the coriolis force. Does solidworks simulate these things accurately, or should I look elsewhere...

A few more details.

I'll mainly be working with solid bodies, no rope, no fluid/air. Probably just some 'train track like' mechanisms or balls in a rotating carosel. Is there something else engineers usually use for stuff like this? I want to put the math of been learning to the test. Any advice?

Cheers,

- David.
