Ekoskar further said that offence has been registered under Section 318 IPC, and police will investigate this case from all angles.
Commenting on this shocking incident, chief officer of Valpoi Municipal Council, Dasharath Gawas said, “This is a very sensitive and touchy issue. It is obvious that someone from Sattari might have dumped this foetus in the truck parked in our premises. I have asked my staff to lodge a complaint with the police in the morning as soon as he noticed it”.
He further said this was an inhuman act. “I will direct all the concerned departments including health and CDPO to help police, if necessary, in the investigation and trace the person behind this incident,” said Gawas who is also the mamlatdar of
Sattari taluka.
Residents said that this issue is a wakeup call to the Valpoi Municipal Council and
the police.
“Civic authorities need to install CCTV cameras at the major locations, including the properties belonging to VMC. I hope VMC will take this incident as a bugle call and install CCTV cameras to prevent any further untoward incidents,”
said a resident.
