NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: As many as 3,852 people were inoculated at 85 centres in Gautam Budh Nagar on Friday, the 23rd day of the third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive. In Ghaziabad, a total of 3,841 persons were vaccinated at 71 centres on the day.
GB Nagar, which had planned to inoculate 65,048 persons in March, reached the target late Thursday evening when the Co-WIN ported reported the figure to be 66,424. The overall target for this category is 2.6 lakh.
“A total of 3,380 Phase 3 recipients received the jab against a target of 8,000. This takes the total third phase vaccinations to 69,804, which is 107% of the March target,” said Dr Neeraj Tyagi, district immunisation officer, in charge of Covid vaccination in GB Nagar.
Ghaziabad, however, is 26,406 away from its March target as the district had planned to inoculate 93,480 persons by this month. On Friday, a total of 2,615 recipients were above 60 years while 682 were in the 45-59 with comorbidities category.
As per official figures, 1,986 people in the 60 years and above category and 454 in the 45-59 age group were vaccinated at government facilities in Ghaziabad. Likewise, 629 in the first category and 228 in the second were vaccinated at private hospitals. Both districts are yet to receive new targets for April from the state government.
