Currently, petrol is being sold for 92.77 per litre and diesel is sold for 86.10 per litre. The rapid increase in fuel prices took a pause since february 28th and there has been no hike in the fuel prices till now. Even LPG cylinder prices increased too much. Day before yesterday, the cost of both petrol and diesel reduced 16 paisa per litre. For the past few days, petrol has been reduced 34 paisa and diesel has been reduced 35 paisa. In chennai city, petrol is sold for Rs.38.77 and diesel is sold for Rs.86.10. This has came as a huge relief for middle class people. But at the same time, people are aware that this is just a gimmick for the upcoming assembly elections in the five states. So, people are mentally prepared for a sudden spike after the elections.

Tamil Nadu assembly elections has garnered all attention and bjp party isdoing piggyback ride on ADMK party. AL Murugan who is bjp party head in tamil Nadu failed to answer the question of fuel prices hike during press meet. So, it is now more or less obvious that the prices will go high after april 6th!
