Prime Minister Modi enchants voters during visit to Bangladesh: Mamata

Kharagpur: Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee accused him on Saturday with a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for asking for votes from a section of people in Bengal during his visit to Bangladesh and asking why his visa should not be “canceled” .

Speaking at a public meeting in Kharagpur, the Prime Minister said: “In 2019, Lok Sabha voted if a Bangladeshi actor attended our meeting, BJP spoke to the Government of Bangladesh and canceled his visa. When polls are running here “Are you (PM) going to Bangladesh to get votes from one part of the people? Why should your visa not be canceled? We will complain to the Electoral Commission.” Mamata claims that the visit of Prime Minister PM, Bangladesh, is contrary to the code of conduct of the election.

“Elections are going on here and he (PM) is going to Bangladesh and giving lectures on Bengal. This is a total violation of the code of conduct of the election. If he needs votes in Kharagpur, why is he going to Bangladesh? He is going to Bangladesh for his marketing. “Who is true and who is a liar, an answer to this is needed,” she remarked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangladesh on two days to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Voting for the first eight-phase Assembly polls in West Bengal began on Saturday at 7am with voters deciding the fate of 191 candidates in 30 constituencies.

All constituencies in Purulia, Jhargram and segments of Bankura, Purba Medinipur and Paschim Medinipur are going to decide the fate of 191 candidates, including 21 women candidates in the battle.
