Those putting up ads illegally to face action

Gurgaon: Taking note of the unauthorised advertisements put up across the dividers, roundabouts and other areas of the new sectors, the Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) has decided to penalise the illegal advertisers.
According to officials, the corporation has reiterated that the advertisers will have to seek MCM’s permission before putting up any advertisements. “Since the area was not under any corporation, it gave way to mushrooming of unauthorised advertisements. Now that the MCM has been constituted, the advertisers will have to seek corporation’s permission first,” an official said. The unauthorised advertisers will have to take down their ads in seven days, failing which the corporation will remove these advertisements and the unauthorised advertisers will have to bear the cost. “Advertisers should follow the proper procedure and contact the MCM office to put up ads,” read the notice issued by MCM commissioner Munish Sharma.
