Holi 2021 sees a host of in-game events in the best Android and iOS games like Free Fire, Pokemon Go, Ludo King, and more. Holi, being one of the major Indian festivals, is a ripe time for celebration. However, since the pandemic has taken its toll on physically meeting up for events, we’ll have to look to video games to keep the festive spirit alive. Here are what the biggest Android and iOS games in India are doing to keep the festive spirit alive in their digital playgrounds. We have done our best to include the start and end dates and times for the Holi 2021 events in these games where possible.
Ludo King - TBA

Ludo King is planning a contest for its upcoming Holi 2021 celebrations. While developer Gametion hasn’t given us a date, the studio was able to confirm that the contest will involve “exciting prizes”. Using Ludo King’s pages on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood will ask players their favourite colour. Players can share their photo with Ludo King colours to win the aforementioned “exciting prizes.” Unfortunately, Gametion hasn’t revealed more details about the Holi event, including when it will take place.
Maskgun - Until March 30
Celebrating the festival of colours, Maskgun has introduced a new map as well as a new avatar for Holi. The map is the Favela, but splattered all over with colours, much like you would see in any street in India during Holi. It also got a new splash screen celebrating the festival, a new King of the Hill game mode, and a new weapon skin for the AK-47. Bringing it all home is a new icon on your smartphone’s home screen showing off Maskgun’s Holi celebrations. Maskgun’s Holi celebrations will go on until March 30.
Pokemon Go - March 28

Niantic has announced the Festival of Colors in Pokemon Go, which features timed research tasks with exclusive rewards. Rewards include a variety of Poke Balls, Berries, and an encounter with Alolan Muk, among many others. Pokemon Go is also introducing all-new Festival of Colors T-shirt items for your avatar. The avatar items will be free thorugh the in-game shop on March 26. Pokemon Go’s Festival of Colors will take place over a single day, March 28, starting at 10am IST and going on until 8pm IST.
Free Fire - Until March 29
Garena’s Holi event for Free Fire is quite elaborate and involves multiple stages. The first stage involves players hunting for the Demoness’ hideout. Stage 2 involves taking a personality test that reveals players’ true colours, which represents the players in the final colour collection. After-match drops include coloured paints, and players have to gather the full set of 10 colours to restore colour to the world of Free Fire. The Holi event in Free Fire rewards players with a host of in-game items, including new emotes and a Custom Room Card.
