IPL 2021: Chinna Thala is here, CSK’s Suresh Raina reunites with MS Dhoni and Co after one year gap– Chennai Super Kings key player Suresh Raina has joined the IPL franchise ahead of the IPL 2021 season, CSK said in a tweet post. The player had delayed his joining multiple times. While it was due to some ‘personal reasons’ during the first instance, he postponed it for the second time due to his son Rio’s birthday.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu and the uncapped players like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Narayan Jagadeeshan, Hari Neeshanth and Sai Kishore were amongst the first to join the camp.

Chennai Super Kings will play their opening match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium on April 10. They will play their first-leg IPL 2021 matches in Mumbai.

The franchise will rely heavily on Suresh Raina’s performances in their quest for IPL 2021 trophy this season. CSK had ended 7th in the T20 league table last year. The middle-order batsman is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL with over 5,000 runs despite missing the last season.

To strengthen other areas, CSK roped Moeen Ali (Rs 7 crore) and K Gowtham (Rs 9.5 crore) among mega signing in IPL 2021.
