Royapuram Assembly Constituency mostly has low-class people who are fishermen. This area is mostly surrounded by lower middle class and lower class people who work for their daily wages. ADMK Minister Jayakumar has always shown his victory in this particular area and even now in the upcoming assembly elections, he will be representing ADMK in this area.

However, this time people in this constituency are not ready for their fake promises. Drinking-Water has been the major problem for this area people and so far no steps have been taken to clear this issue. Also, most of the people are living in housing boards and rented houses, and they have never been allotted proper houses as promised in the previous elections. Counselors and Corporation employees have never visited their area at regular intervals and it is obvious from the pothole roads.


One of the ladies in the area said, "Gutter is filled and it is everywhere in the road. First of all, they need to build a wall for the graveyard. Drinks, Smoking, drugs are available in plenty and no one bothers. We are living in rented houses for the past two decades and so far no housing board houses have been allotted. We don't need free washing machines, we need a place to stay." We hope ADMK minister Jayakumar listens to people's woes and take the necessary remedy.
